Sun ‘N Fun

Jun 27, 2008

The AIM Indianapolis Campus was excited to celebrate our second annual Student Appreciation Day & Laugh Olympics this week.

Our students, staff and faculty enjoyed an afternoon together in the summer sun. Among all the games, contests and awarded prizes the most popular event was the hotdog cookout and picnic style lunch. The day was sponsored by dozens of local and national companies. Combining our efforts and their contributions, AIM was able to give away more than 60 different “door prizes” and contest awards. Overall, the day was a huge success!

Throughout the day we took hundreds of pictures and several short video segments.  Click on the photos below to open up the online album of photos.  And, check out our YouTube channel for all of the videos (to be posted soon)!

Beginning of a Busy Week!

Jun 23, 2008

Today was the beginning of a very busy week at AIM Indy.  Of course, everyone knows about the upcoming Student Appreciation Day & Laugh Olympics on Thursday.  And, most know of the recruiting visit on Wednesday from Midcoast Aviation / Savannah Air.  And today was filled with activity with our semi-annual blood donation drive.

The AIM Indy campus was proud, if not a little woozy, for hosting a blood donation drive today in support of the Indiana Blood Center.

Our students, staff & faculty were overflowing with generosity today, and the technicians from IBC gladly took advantage of more than TWENTY donations!

On behalf of all the people who will benefit from those donations …

THANK YOU, AIM!!

Now, here is the really fun part … our regular photographer wasn’t able to find time in the schedule for taking any pictures.  So, we handed the camera to our wonderful receptionist, Brandy Wilson.  She was, let’s say … “creative” with her pictures of the blood mobile bus.  Here are a couple of them (that were in focus):

Shannon’s new modeling career …

and, Brandy Wilson - our new Daredevil Receptionist!!

The Return of Stacie!

Jun 17, 2008

Today everyone at AIM Indy is very excited to welcome Stacie Bruton back to our campus!

Stacie returns to us from several weeks of maternity leave after the recent birth of her new son, Jacob. No doubt she has enjoyed all the time with her family and friends over these last few weeks. And, although loaded (no pun intended) with dirty diapers and sleepless nights, the time spent with her new son surely has been irreplaceable.

But, now it’s our turn! It has been weeks since our hallways sparkled with her laughter and our office beamed with her smile. We are ready for a big dose of “Stacie Bacie” around here!

Please join us in welcoming Stacie back to the office, the team, and the campus at large. We have missed her for far too long & we’re all very glad to have her back!!

Stacie, we all know how much you love this picture. So, we just HAD to put it on the blog!!

Welcome back, Stacie!!!

Pizza Pizza Pizza !!

Jun 10, 2008

The AIM Indianapolis Campus has hosted our 2008 Mentos & Diet Coke Competition!  The day was filled with fizz, foam, and fountains!!

Each class competed to produce the tallest soda fountain using Diet Coke & Mentos candies for fuel.  The individual classes designed, tested and delivered all sorts of nozzles and apparatus for the event.

We are excited to announce that James Jackson’s class on day session won the first round of competitions.  And, Dave Livesay’s & John Rastenburg’s classes tied for winning positions on evenings.  We congratulate them all!!

Now, pictures speak thousands more words than this blog ever could.  And, VIDEO speaks even more!  So, rather than narrating the entire day of events for you … why don’t you take a look for yourself!

Not only do we have the regular round of pictures for you, but the biggest news is that AIM Indy now has our own YouTube Channel !!

Check it all out:

Beta Test

May 16, 2008

P1070010

The AIM Indianapolis campus Mentos Competition scheduled for next month is already underway! Today we witnessed one team beginning to test some early designs.

Brenda Smith, Kyle Broomhall, and Dennis Britton (Jason Jackson’s class - Aviation Fundamentals 3) tested nozzle and delivery system designs.

We promised not to give away any trade secrets … so, we’ll just share some photographs we took of the test.

We look forward to seeing some more creative and successful design tests soon - from all the teams involved!
